Fundraising tip – Sponsorship = filling the gaps

If you have a major event coming that has a number of sponsorship options, why not share the burden of sourcing sponsorship with your entire community?
You might send out a table that looks a little like this:
Sponsor for………….Ideas for sponsors……………………….$amount
Animal Farm………..Vet/ Pet Shop ……………………………… $700
First Aid Tent……….Doctors/ Pharmacy………………………..$400
Cake Shop…………..Bakery/ Local cafe/ Gift shop…………$500
Fireworks…………….Politician/ real estate/ Car garage…$1500
Naming Rights…….ALREADY SOLD…………………………..$3000
You can then ask your community to put on their thinking caps of what connections they may have to help you fill your sponsorship schedule. Where possible, encourage people to access a copy of your sponsorship proposal, otherwise ask for an intrduction to the potential sponsor.
This is a simple way of pulling your community in to ‘fill the gaps’!
