Blog Post – a business directory
This idea from Janet in Brisbane will help your own community as well as provide a fundraising opportunity. Create a business directory for your school or group and offer the business owners amongst you a free listing. Then charge a small fee for local businesses to list their businesses.
As an extension of this idea, you can get a major sponsor, such as a local bank or real estate agent, to ‘sponsor’ the directory to pay the costs of having it printed or copied, in exchange for their logo on the cover and an ad inside. Another great benefit – you have a ready list of potential sponsors for your ongoing fundraising efforts!
If you have a website, add value to their listing by placing a logo and web link on your page. Similarly, if you have a Facebook page (and so do they), you can ‘like’ their page which will show up to your Facebook community.
For higher value sponsors/ advertisers, offer to send home a flyer of theirs also, or include an offer in your newsletter.
